Box Score CHARLESTON, WV – The Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team just missed out on its first victory of the season. Unfortunately, the University of Charleston got the points it needed down the stretch for the 3-0 victory (25-19, 28-26, 25-18).

SHU nearly took the second set, grabbing a 26-25 lead on a Carlos Santa Cruz kill. Unfortunately the Pioneers committed a pair of errors and the Golden Eagles came up with a block to take the set.
Junior Nicholas Palluzzi continues to lead the offensive attack, notching a team-best eight kills. Back in the line-up, rookie Mark Berry was next with five kills.
Sacred Heart did a better job on offense, hitting .128 but they still allowed the hosts to hit .273. Charleston had slight advantages in digs (29-22) and blocks (5-3).
