Box Score BROOKVILLE, NY – The Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team nearly pulled itself out of a hole it dug in the first quarter on Saturday at LIU. Unfortunately, the Sharks opened a lead the Pioneers could not overcome as LIU prevailed, 13-8.

The Sharks scored the first six goals of the game before Logan Liljeberg stopped the bleeding with a goal at the 2:53 mark. Ben Palanchi added another score to close the gap to four.
SHU started the second half with Sal Miccio scoring the third of his four goals then Trevor Johnson and Drew Edwards found the back of the net to cut the lead to 8-7 with 6:53 left in the quarter.
However, the Pioneers went nearly 20 minutes without a goal as LIU went on a 5-0 run to establish a 13-7 lead.
The hosts had a 51-43 advantage in shots and picked up 40 ground balls to the Pioneers' 28.
Miccio had the best game of his young career with four goals. Liljeberg was the only other SHU player to record multiple points with a goal and three assists.
