Box Score STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team put up a fight against eighth-ranked Penn State but couldn't get one from the Nittany Lions. The Pioneers dropped a 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-18) decision on Friday.

SHU's best opportunity came in the second set as it built a 17-14 advantage on an Aaron Peterson kill. Unfortunately, Penn State responded with a 6-0 run and got two kills down the stretch for the victory.
Four different Pioneers had four or more kills, topped by six from Nicholas Palluzzi. Senior Shawn Tischler and rookie Mark Berry were next with five. Tim McIntosh had a half dozen digs.
Penn State out hit the Pioneers, .480-to-.072 and picked up 30 digs, compared to 19 by SHU.
