Box Score FAIRFIELD, Conn. – It was two different Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse teams Wednesday against Wagner College. The Pioneers let a 7-3 halftime lead slip away as the Seahawks came back to hand SHU an 11-9 Northeast Conference defeat.

Trailing 8-7 going into the final quarter, Wagner scored four-straight goals to start the fourth frame to grab an 11-8 advantage. Logan Liljeberg scored his second goal of the evening at the 4:10 mark to stop the WC's run.
Sacred Heart got off five shots in the final four minutes, but Wagner goalie Danny Brady made a pair of saves to preserve the win.
Rookie Sal Miccio scored at the 8:21 point of the second quarter to push the Sacred Heart lead to 5-1. The Seahawks answered with two goals, but SHU went into the locker room up 7-3 thanks to another Miccio goal and one from goalkeeper Peter Callahan. Callahan picked off a Wagner clear attempt by Brady and slung it 70 yards into the goal.
Brady was the difference in the game, making 20 saves as the Pioneers had a 52-30 advantage in shots. SHU also picked up 31 ground balls, compared to 21 by the visitors.
