Box Score GENEVA, NY – In its season finale, the Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team had a valiant effort in the second half, but couldn't rally to beat Hobart College. The Pioneers fell 14-12 to the Statesmen on Saturday.

Five minutes into the second quarter, Morgan O'Reilly found the back of the net to pull the Pioneers even, 3-3.
Hobart answered with a 5-1 run to take an 8-4 lead into the half.
Several times in the second half the Pioneers got close but couldn't quite catch up to the Statesmen. At the 11:09 mark of the third quarter Drew Edwards scored to slice the lead to 8-6.
The third of Sal Miccio's team-high four goals made it an 11-10 contest with 11:26 to play. Unfortunately, Hobart responded with three-straight goals to build a 14-10 advantage.
Senior Logan Liljeberg scored the last point of his career with a goal in the final 30 seconds. He finished his SHU tenure third in assists (65), fifth in points (135) and ninth in goals (70).
The Statesmen had a 23-7 advantage in faceoffs and grabbed 46 ground balls compared to 20 by the Pioneers.
