FAIRFIELD, CONN- The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team welcomes top-ranked conference opponent Wagner to the Pitt Center on Saturday, January, 8. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on NEC Front Row with Randy Brochu and Freddie Coleman on the call. 

OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart welcomes Wagner for its second NEC matchup of the season. The Pioneers lead the Seahawks 33-10 in the series.
  • The Pioneers were supposed to host CCSU on Thursday, but was canceled due to COVID protocols within the Blue Devils program. In accordance to the NEC forfeit cancellation policy, Sacred Heart received a win from the contest and are currently in second place at 3-0 in the league.
  • Sacred Heart split the series with Wagner last season. The Pioneers lost the first contest 62-67 before turning around and winning the second game 58-50. Adrianne Hagood scored double-figures in both games with 10 and 23 points. Nikki Johnson notched 11 points in the opening game.
  • Sacred Heart currently leads the NEC in fewest turnovers and are ninth nationally with 131.
  • Sonia Smith is second in the league in scoring with 14.8 points per game and third in assists with 4.4 per game. Olivia Tucker ranks third in three-point field goals made with 2.3 per game while Carly Stroemel is fourth with 6.7 rebounds per game.
