NORWALK, Conn.—The Sacred Heart equestrian team finished first overall in their IHSA season-opening showcase. The Pioneers won the competition with 38 points beating Fairfield (26), Trinity (26), and UConn (25) to open the fall season at home.
Joanna Coreno was the high point rider, and
Hanna Lloyd was the reserve point rider.
For the open hunter season equitation over fences, Sacred Heart took the top three spots as
Macayla Sousa was first,
Hanna Lloyd was second, and Mackenzie Hamilton was third.
Lloyd won the open hunter seat equitation flat, and
Raegan Olson was fourth.
In the intermediate hunter seat equitation over fences,
Alexa Setteducati was first, and Nicole Albert was third.
Gillian Cunningham and Lauren Radi were second and fourth, respectively, in the intermediate hunter seat equitation flat.
In the limit hunter seat equitation over fences,
Joanna Coreno was first,
Elliana Forgione was third, Sophia Poling was fourth, and Jordyn Delfalco was fifth.
The Pioneers had four performers in the top five of the limit hunter seat equitation flat.

Ciara O'Sullivan and
Ava Flannery were both first in the novice hunter seat equitation.
Nicole Gregory was first in the pre-novice hunter seat equitation and Giovanna Matthews was second in the introductory hunt seat equitation flat.
For Crossrail, Abi Marsh was first, Julia Parlapiano was second, Kaylee Shindel was third, Alyssa McMahon was fifth, and Amanda Cosentino was sixth.
Sacred Heart is back in action at home on October 22nd against Sweet Briar in NCEA action.
