NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J.—The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team finished in seventh place of the second Northeast Conference meet of the season.
The Pioneers are now fourth overall in the conference standings between the first and second NEC meets.
On the opening day of the tournament, Sacred Heart went 2-1 with wins over Wagner, 1017- 821, and St. Francis Brooklyn, 939-862. The Pioneers' only loss of the first day came against LIU, 905-885.
During the second day of the tournament, the Pioneers went 0-4. Merrimack took the first match, 1019-906, followed by a 979-863 loss to Saint Francis University. Fairleigh Dickinson took the next match, 1008-811, and Duquesne won the last match, 935-850.
Senior
Hannah Manetta led the Pioneers with a 191.50 average, knocking down a total of 1,149 pins.
Sacred Heart has one last Northeast Conference competition on February 18-19th before the conference championships.
For the championship, five team advance to the championship site. The bracket is four teams overall. The top three teams secure a bracket spot, while the fourth and fifth-seeded teams have a play-in match on Thursday before. The winner of the match will be the four seed in the championship bracket. The NEC Championship will take place on March 24-26 in Hamilton, N.J.
