Morgan O'Reilly posted a career-high five goals but it wasn't enough to hold off a 5-0 Fairfield run in the final five minutes as the Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team fell, 19-17, on Tuesday night.

The Stags trailed by two with three minutes remaining in the first quarter before taking off on a 5-0 run that continued into the second quarter.
First-year
Jake Ward had his hand in two of the three goals that helped SHU knot the game at seven-all. Ward netted the first before assisting O'Reilly in the third. The Stags went on to get one more at the 7:24 mark in the second frame before SHU posted three-straight to grow a two-goal cushion, 10-8.
Daniel Rodriguez kicked off the second half the same exact way that he ended it, with a goal directly from the faceoff X. Rodriguez's goal to open the half gave the Pioneers its largest lead of the night, 11-8. Both teams would score four goals apiece in the third frame as SHU held on to its advantage, 14-12, heading into the final 15 minutes.
Fairfield outscored the Pioneers, 7-2, in the fourth quarter, including five-straight in the final minutes to erase Sacred Heart's lead and seal the win, 19-16.
O'Reilly had a career night as he tallied a career-high five goals and fired 10 shots, eight of which were on target.
Sal Miccio and Rodriguez also posted multi-goal games. Miccio had a season-high of three, his first multi-goal performance of the year, while Rodriguez added a career-best two goals and eight groundballs.
The Stags won the advantage in the faceoff X, 24-15, and capitalized on all three of its man-up opportunities, compared to the Pioneers who went 0-7.
