The Sacred Heart University dance team will hold in-person auditions on March 27 in the Pitt Center Dance Room. 
 
They will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a few cuts throughout the day.

Please wear clothing appropriate for a dance audition (leggings/shorts, t-shirt/tank/sports bra). No baggy clothing. Also have sneakers and turners/jazz shoes with you.

**You must have the following skills prepared for auditions as well as a 1 minute solo in a style of your choosing.

**You will be taught a combination in both jazz and hip hop that you will perform in small groups.

**The following is a list of necessary skills for SHU Dance:
- Triple and quad turns (pirouettes)
- solid a la secondes
- prepare a turn combo (switching spots, floats, etc.)
-leap/switch leap
-side leap
-calypso
-turning open second (circular disk)
-firebird
-switch arabesque
-kip up
-headspring

Solo should be in either jazz, pom, contemporary or hip hop that is at least one minute. Remember this is a Collegiate Division 1 Dance Team and you want to show your best. So choose a style that you feel is your strongest.

There will be an opportunity to showcase additional skills not listed above. Some suggestions are:
-side sumi
-aerials (either side or front)
-rubberband
-suicide
-headstand
-any tumbling
-any other jumps
