Sacred Heart Faces SFBK In Battle of the Unbeaten on Saturday

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team puts its perfect 2-0 conference start to the test against another NEC unbeaten opponent in St. Francis Brooklyn in a home matchup at the Pitt Center on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on NEC Front Row with Randy Brochu and Freddie Coleman on the call.

OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart leads the overall series against St. Francis Brooklyn 32-18. The Terriers have won four of the last five meetings against the Pioneers.
  • Last season, St. Francis Brooklyn swept the series 63-37 and 76-67. Olivia Tucker had 16 points for Sacred Heart during game two at the Pitt Center.
  • The Pioneers are currently on a three-game winning streak that includes a 2-0 start in Northeast Conference play. Sacred Heart picked up league victorys over LIU and Stonehill.
  • Sacred Heart leads the NEC in combined rebounds with 36.4 per game and is second in offensive rebounds with 11.9 per game.
  • Ny'Ceara Pryor is a six-time NEC Rookie of the Week honoree and a two-time Met Basketball Writer's Association honorable mention. The guard leads Sacred Heart with 17.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 4.2 steals per game in her inaugural college season. Pryor is the leader in the NEC and the nation in steals and steals per game. In addition to being the leader in the conference in scoring.
  • Carly Stroemel leads the NEC in blocks per game (1.5) and total blocks (18). The senior is nationally ranked 80th in blocks per game and 94th in total blocks.
