Sacred Heart Returns to Action at LIU on Thursday

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team travels to Brooklyn to meet with LIU for the second time this season on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on NEC Front Row.
 
OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart won the first meeting against the Sharks, 63-53, at the Pitt Center on Jan. 6. The Pioneers hold a 26-21 advantage in the series and the Sharks are 14-8 when playing in Brooklyn.
  • Sacred Heart recently handed first-place FDU its first conference loss of the season with a score of 71-62. Head coach Jessica Mannetti earned her 100th Northeast Conference victory in that contest.
  • The Pioneers are third in the NEC in combined rebounds with 35.3 per game and offensive rebounds with 11.4 per game.
  • Pryor recently became the first player in program and NEC history to be selected to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist (1/24). The first year is an eight-time NEC Rookie of the Week, two-time NEC Player of the Week and three-time Met Basketball Writer's Association Honorable Mention honoree. Pryor is the leader in the NEC and nation in steals and steals per game. In addition to leading the conference in scoring (17.6). Pryor has scored 20+ points in eight games.   • Carly Stroemel is second in the NEC in blocks per game (1.4) and blocks (26). The senior is nationally ranked 84th in both categories.
  • Sierra Johnson has scored double-figure performances in three-straight games, including a season-high 16 points at Saint Francis (1/16).
