NORTH EASTON, Mass.— Thanks to a 44-20 advantage in the second half, the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team came away with a 70-56 Northeast Conference victory over Stonehill on Sunday.

Sacred Heart had a slow start trailing, 16-7 in the first quarter. The Pioneers made adjustments in the second quarter with a 7-0 run to bring the score within four at the 8:17 mark. Stonehill continued to build on its lead and took a 36-26 margin into halftime.

Amelia Wood to trim the score, 38-35. The game went through four lead changes throughout the third quarter, but Stonehill held onto the 47-45 edge over the Pioneers at the end of the frame.
Wood tallied six unanswered points within the first minute and a half of the fourth quarter, putting Sacred Heart in the position to outscore Stonehill 25-9 the rest of the way and complete the comeback.
The Pioneers outscored the Skyhawks 36-20 in the paint and 17 points off 14 offensive rebounds.
First year
Ny'Ceara Pryor recorded her sixth 20+ point performance with a game-high 22 points while matching her season-high seven assists and notching a season-high two blocked shots. Wood finished with 12 points on a perfect four-of-four from the field and 2-of-2 behind the arc while grabbing seven rebounds.
