Sacred Heart Hosts CCSU for Senior Day

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team returns to the Pitt Center for Senior Day against Central Connecticut State on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN3 with Craig D'Amico and Tykera Carter on the call.
 
OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart wraps up the regular season with two contests at home, beginning with CCSU. The game also marks Senior Day for players Wil'lisha Jackson, Maya Klein, Savannah Marshall, Carly Stroemel and Olivia Tucker.
  • The Pioneers look to split the series this year with the Blue Devils after their 79-64 loss in New Britain. Ny'Ceara Pryor led with 21 points in the contest.
  • The Pioneers are off to their best conference start since the 2015-16 season with a 10-4 record and to finish in the top rankings for the seventh time in program history.
  • SHU leads the NEC in offensive rebounds with 12.7 per game and is second in combined rebounds with 36.3 per game.
  • Pryor became the first player in program and NEC history to be selected to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist. The first year is a 12-time NEC Rookie of the Week, two-time NEC Player of the Week and five-time Met Basketball Writer's Association Honorable Mention honoree. Pryor is the leader in the nation in steals per game (4.1) and steals overall (107). In addition to being the leader in the conference in scoring (18.2). Pryor has scored 20+ points in 12 games.
  • Sajada Bonner leads the Pioneers and is third in the NEC with 51 three-pointers made. The graduate student notched a career-high six triples against SFBK.
