FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Coming off a 65-47 win at Wagner and moving to first place alone in the NEC standings, the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team looks to keep the momentum going on Saturday in its in-state matchup with Central Connecticut State in New Britain. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. on NEC Front Row.  
 
OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart meets Central Connecticut State for the 61st time. The Pioneers hold an 18-11 advantage when playing the Blue Devils in New Britain.
  • SHU improved to 8-1 in conference play with a 65-47 victory over Wagner. Ny'Ceara Pryor eclipsed her ninth 20+ point performance with 25. The Pioneers also moved up to first alone in NEC standings.
  • SHU is third in the NEC in offensive rebounds with 11.8 per game and combined rebounds with 35.6 per game.
  • Pryor became the first player in program and NEC history to be selected to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist. The first year is a nine-time NEC Rookie of the Week, two-time NEC Player of the Week and three-time Met Basketball Writer's Association Honorable Mention honoree. Pryor is the leader in the league and nation in steals per game (4.1) and steals (87). In addition to being the leader in the conference in scoring (17.8). Pryor has scored 20+ points in nine games.
  • Carly Stroemel leads the NEC in blocks per game (1.4) and blocks (26). The senior is nationally ranked 99th in blocks per game.
  • Sajada Bonner leads the Pioneers and is third in the NEC with 42 three-pointers made. The graduate student notched a career-high six triples against SFBK.
