RUSTBURG, Va.—On the second day of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) ECAC Championship, the #4 Sacred Heart University equestrian team fell to #1 the University of Lynchburg, 8-2.
Lilly Bove and
Emma Grimes collected two points for the Pioneers in fences, but Lynchburg was able to take grab three points from fences. The Hornets took a 3-2 lead heading into the flat competition.
Lynchburg had success in flat competition, shutting out the Pioneers 5-0. The Hornets were able to defeat the Pioneers, 8-2, during the second day of competition at the NCEA ECAC Championships.
Following the tournament, Grimes was chosen by the judges as the ECAC Single Discipline Tournament Fences MOP. Grimes and Bove both earned a spot on the ECAC Single Discipline Fences All-Tournament Team.
