MONTGOMERY, N.Y. — The Sacred Heart University men's cross country team competed in its inaugural outing at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) XC Championships, taking home strong showings at the meet.
First year
Demetri Franzese took SHU's top time in the morning's 8k, finishing in 26:21.4 while
Matthew Vene and
Michael Mason finished closely behind the Pioneer first year with times of 26:29.6 and 26:48.9, respectively.
Scoring in the fourth and fifth slots for SHU were
Owen Delisle and
Anthony Esposito who carried times of 26:49.4 and 27:05, respectively.
Colin Trolio and
Jordan Leon followed up in the reserve scoring placements as the Pios locked up an eventual 12
