FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team won its sixth straight game on Saturday afternoon, taking down Wagner 19-6 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action at home on Senior Day.
Tucker Spencer led the Pioneers with six points, coming from five goals and one assist, while
Morgan O'Reilly tallied seven points from four goals and three assists. SHU remains the only unbeaten team in conference play.
SHU had 12 different goal scorers in the victory, including three players recording five or more points.
Jake Ward scored once and dished out four assists, and
Will Moulton added a hat trick in the Pios offensive showing.
Sacred Heart won its sixth consecutive game, the Pioneer's longest win streak in the program's Division I era.

The Pioneers wasted no time as O'Reilly and
Carson Spooner scored a pair of goals in the opening minute and a half of play. The scoring continued as SHU scored six straight goals in the first quarter. Wagner was able to get on the board in the final 21 seconds of the first frame as SHU held a 6-1 lead heading into the second.
The Seahawks scored first to open the second period, but another six-goal run for Sacred Heart doubled the Pios lead, 12-2 at the half. Spencer highlighted the run, tallying three goals, including a man-up goal a 7:26.
The run continued after the break as Spencer found the back of the net for the fifth time, to open the third quarter. Ward notched his lone goal of the day at 12:25, immediately followed by a long-stick goal from
Zach Buffington to give SHU a 15-2 edge. O'Reilly added one more as Sacred Heart scored four goals in the opening four minutes of the third frame. Wagner added a pair, but SHU had the double-digit lead heading into the final quarter.
Sacred Heart had a pair of first-career goals coming from
Drew Pritts and
Aidan Burke, during the last quarter. Wagner scored twice, but one final goal from
John Murray for Sacred Heart secured the 19-6 final from Campus Field.
SHU had a trio of face-off specialists in the win as
Luke Romanek went 13-for-21,
MP Thomas was 3-for-5, and
Nicky Casano went 3-for-3. Romanek led all Pioneers with nine ground balls.
Sacred Heart also had a trio of goalies in the victory as senior
Alex Pazienza made 11 saves during his 50 minutes of play, junior
Matt Gruters turned away three, and
Craig Daria had a pair of saves for the Pioneers.
