FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team couldn't overcome a hot-shooting effort in a home 75-51 loss to Mount St. Mary's Saturday afternoon at the Pitt Center.
Ny'Ceara Pryor led the scoring efforts for SHU with 19 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals.
Emma Kirby was next on the team with nine points and four rebounds in 11 minutes.
Amelia Wood finished with a strong effort, putting up seven points, six rebounds and three steals.

The start of today's game was evenly matched, with the Mountaineers owning a slim 5-4 lead after the opening 2:17. Pryor scored SHU's first four points with a pair of layups. Unfortunately for the Pioneers, Mount started to pull away over the final 7:43, winning the frame 21-13.
SHU scored the first three points of the second to cut the margin to five, 21-16. The Mountaineers answered by scoring the next 14 points to take a 35-16 lead. The Pios cut into the deficit but trailed 42-27 going into halftime.
The Mountaineers held on over the second half to earn the road victory. MSM shot the lights out of the ball, going 15-for-29 (51.7%) from 3-point range and 26-for-44 (59.1%) from the field. Jo Raflo led all players with 22 points, leading Mount to a 75-51 victory.
