Ames, Iowa – Senior guard Amelia Wood and junior center Emma Kirby led eight Pioneer scorers with six points apiece as the Sacred Heart women's basketball team dropped a 99-34 decision to the No. 14/17 Iowa State Cyclones.
Among the two leading scorers, Kirby was the most productive with her three field goals coming on eight attempts. Joining the pair among the leading scorers was Sierra Johnson with five and a trio of players with four points each; Sophie Nascimento, Faith Pappas and Jordanna Schrecker.
As a team, the Pioneers closed out the game shooting 30.6 percent on 15-of-49 from the field. The Cyclone also won the battle of the boards with a 43-21 differential with Wood pulling down a team-high four.

FIRST QUARTER NOTES
· After forcing a Cyclones turnover on the opening possession, Kirby knocked down the first bucket of the game on an elbow jumper.
· Kirby would strike again to give the Pioneers a 4-2 lead when she cut straight down the paint and used the well-placed pass from Grace John for the easy layup.
· Iowa State responded with nine unanswered to open up an 11-4 lead with Sierra Johnson putting an end to that run on a layup driving in along the left baseline.
· Coming out of the media timeout the Cyclones extended the lead to double figures with two perfect trips to the line.
· A pair of first years would get on the board with Schrecker and Sophie Nascimento contributing the next six Pioneer points, four from Nascimento.
SECOND QUARTER NOTES
· It was all three pointers in the early going in the second quarter with the first two from Iowa State before Taaliyah Porter struck from outside, the first of the game for Sacred Heart.
· The Cyclones closed out the half with the final 16 points to take a 54-17 edge into the locker room at the break.
THIRD QUARTER NOTES
· Johnson answered the first Iowa State basket of the second half with a three pointer on the Pioneers first possession of the second half.
· That three from Porter was the first of back-to-back Sacred Heart baskets with Nalyce Dudley following that with a second chance layup.
· Schrecker added to her point total with a drive and score nearing the midway points of the quarter before the Cyclones closed out the quarter on a 16-point run.
FOURTH QUARTER NOTES
· After an empty possession for the Cyclones to open the quarter, Wood would convert on the Pioneers first possession as she drove down the right side of the paint for the layup.
· Just under the eight-minute mark Faith Pappas became the eighth Pioneer to get on the board with a floating jumper.
· Wood would then go back-to-back just ahead of the final media timeout, the first time driving the left edge of the paint before scoring on a turnaround in the paint on the next possession.
