NEW YORK, N.Y. — A notable day at the Scarlet Knight Open would be the sentiment for
Lance Hayes and
Colin Brown as both would cement top times in individual events and act as crucial parts of the Pioneers winning 4x400m team. The team was completed by
Connor Meikle and
Matthew Papajohn as the four would finish the relay at 3:19.02 the fastest time by the Pioneers this season and in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
Hayes competed in the 400m for the first time this season and did not disappoint running a sub-50 second time. The senior ran a personal best and new MAAC top time of 48.80. Brown grabbed third in the 200m after a personal best 21.93 beating his previous time by a thousandth of a second.
In the throws, the underclassmen shined again.
Anthony DePasquale and
Joshua Wood both had third place finishes in the shot put and championship weight throw respectively. DePasquale finished the day with a 13.55m throw while Wood threw for 16.30m both marks are personal bests.
