Western Sends Seven Pioneers to Western Semi-Finals After Competition at Western Regionals

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Equestrian Western Squad completed its shows at the Western Regional Championships this afternoon. Seven Pioneers advanced to the Semi-Final Championship which will begin on Saturday Mar. 16 at Florida State University.

Junior Olivia Zwernemann and senior Logan Morris each placed first and second in Novice Horsemanship respectively and advanced to the Semi-Final Championship while junior Emily Spellman placed sixth.

In Open Horsemanship, seniors Cariann Johnson and Michelle Johnson placed first and second which advanced them to the Semi-Final Championship.

Sophomore Hailey Tyler and senior Gina Gramarossa each placed first and second in Intermediate Horsemanship which advanced both to the Semi-Final Championship while junior Valerie Stein placed fourth, sophomore Brigitta Shepard placed fifth and senior Emery Smith placed sixth.

Senior Megan Griffin placed first in Advanced Horsemanship and advanced to the Semi-Final Championship. Victoria Caputo placed fourth.
