They not only qualified and competed in two national championships but also secured the IHSA Region 5 Championship. Additionally, the team made history by winning the Tournament of Champions hosted by Findley, marking an unprecedented achievement for SHU.

Originally hailing from Cape Coral, FL, Sylvia brings a wealth of experience garnered from her extensive involvement in the equestrian world. Sylvia has ridden for accomplished equestrian talents including Callan Solem, who has represented the United States on more than 11 occasions, was short-listed for the 2016 Olympic team, and has amassed over 2.6 million dollars in career earnings, and Carol Thompson, who was an alternate for the US Olympic Team in 1968.

Sylvia's journey has been further enriched by her riding for distinguished individuals such as Michael Matz. A three-time member of the US Olympic Team, Matz has also made notable appearances at the Pan Am Games and the World Equestrian Games. Matz also notably trained the 2006 Kentucky Derby winner, Barbaro. Furthermore, Sylvia rode and managed for Alex Matz, son of Michael Matz, as he represented the United States on a Nations Cup Team and secured multiple wins in FEI competitions. She also had the privilege of riding under Margie Engle, a renowned Olympian with an illustrious career that includes 10 AGA Rider of the Year titles, three-time Pan American medalist, and was part of the 2000 Olympic team.

In addition, Sylvia served as the Head Coach for Florida Gulf Coast University from 2016 to 2020. Under her leadership, the team achieved numerous victories and had over 18 student-athletes advanced to Regional Championships. Simultaneously, Sylvia owned and operated her own barn where she skillfully led clients to an abundance of triumphs and championships on the highly competitive "AA" circuit.

Sylvia's accomplished career stands as a testament to her extensive experience, unwavering dedication, and collaborations with notable individuals, establishing her as a respected figure in her field.
