(Fairfield, CT) - Sacred Heart University head baseball coach Nick Giaquinto announced that Victor Sorrento and Brian Lamboy signed national letters of intent to play for the Pioneers next season.
Lamboy made the Class A-North all division team at Manalapan High School as a junior, where his team won the NJSIAA Group IV title. He also was selected to the All Monmouth County second team, hitting .389 (42-108), with 12 doubles, 23 runs, and 13 stolen bases as a middle infielder. He produced his sophomore year as well, hitting .347 (25-72) with 23 runs.
Sorrento projects to be a middle-of-the order hitter after hitting .426 with 72 hits, 70 RBI, a .611 slugging percentage, and 50 runs at Monroe-Township High School. A corner infielder and outfielder, he made the GMC All-White Division Team, GMC All-Junior Team, and 2nd Teal All-Area in 2011.
