Baseball Falls to South Alabama, 11-2

MOBILE, Ala. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team fell to South Alabama 11-2 on the road Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Pioneers dropped to 3-10, while South Alabama improved to 9-9.

Billy O'Brien got the start and took the loss, giving up four runs on three hits and striking out three in 2.1 innings of work. Stephen Thibault went 2-for-3, while Elijah Brown went 1-for-4 with an RBI

  • Elijah Brown went 1-for-4 with an RBI

  • Justin Jordan went 1-for-3 with a double

  • SHU got on the board first, tallying two runs in the top of the first

  • After Thibault scored on a throwing error, Brown drilled an RBI single up the middle to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead

  • South Alabama tallied nine runs over the next four innings to take a 9-2 lead

  • The Jaguars added two more runs in the eighth to secure the 11-2 win over the Pioneers
