Baseball Falls to Albany 5-3

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University baseball team fell to non-conference foe Albany, 5-3 at home Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 18-30-1 on the year, while the Great Danes improve to 25-21 on the season.


Billy O'Brien took the loss after giving up one earned run on five hits and striking out four in 3.2 innings of relief. Jake Frasca went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Austin Markmann went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.

  • Luke Hansen got the start and took the no-decision after giving up one run on two hits and striking out three in two innings of work

  • The Pioneers cut the deficit to 4-2 in the eighth after a Markmann RBI single scored Perry from third

  • The Pioneers cut the deficit to 4-3 after Markmann scored on a wild pitch

  • Albany responded with a run in the ninth to push its lead to 5-3
