Radz Ties Career-High in Men's Basketball's 72-64 Loss at Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Despite a late second-half comeback attempt, the Sacred Heart University men's basketball team fell to Robert Morris, 72-64, Thursday afternoon on at the North Athletic Complex. The loss dropped the Pioneers to 8-12 overall and 4-3 in league play, while the Colonials improved to 11-9 on the year and and 6-1 in NEC action.

The Pioneers were led by Zach Radz, who tallied 17 points in the loss, tying his career-high. Sean Hoehn added 11 points, while Cameron Parker chipped in 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a losing effort.

  • The Pioneers responded with an 11-5 run to cut the deficit to 26-18 with 7:38 remaining in the half

  • After Robert Morris pushed its lead to 28-18, SHU went on a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to 30-27 with 2:30 remaining in the half

  • Robert Morris used the remaining 2:05 of the half to go on a 5-2 run to take a 35-29 lead into the half

  • Zach Radz led all scorers at halftime with 12 points

SECOND HALF

  • The Colonials used the opening 5:48 of the half to go on a 17-7 run to extend their lead to 52-36 with 14:12 remaining

  • The Pioneers responded with a 15-6 run over 9:50 of game time to cut the deficit to 58-51 with 3:52 left in the half

  • SHU cut it as close as 60-53 with 2:07 remaining, but was unable to get over the hump as the Colonials secured the 72-64 win

  • Zach Radz scored a season-high and tied his career-high of 17 points which he has scored two previous times in his career

  • Radz scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half

  • Sean Hoehn added 11 points and three steals in the loss

  • Hoehn has reached double-figures in 18 of SHU's 20 games this season

  • Hoehn's three steals marks the ninth time this season where he has recorded multiple steals and seventh time that he has recorded at least three steals

  • Cameron Parker added 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the loss

  • Parker has totaled 132 assists this season, setting the SHU single-season freshman assist program-record

  • The record was previously held by Phil Gaetano who dished 129 assists during his freshman campaign during the 2011-12 season

  • Zach Pfaffenberger totaled two steals and two blocks, both tying career-highs
