Men's Basketball Rolls To 83-57 Win Over Presbyterian

The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team earned its second consecutive win, defeating Presbyterian, 83-57, in the opening game of the Bobcats Invitational in Hamden, Conn. The Pioneers improve to 2-3 on the year, while the Blue Hose fall to 1-4 on the year.

Koreem Ozier paced the Pioneers offense with 21 points. SHU finished with four players in double figures. Jare'l Spellman blocked eight shots, and scored 10 points, and Cameron Parker handed out eight assists.

The Pioneers continue play at the Bobcats Invitational on Saturday when they play Albany. Game time is set for 4:00 pm at Peoples United Center in Hamden.

The Turning Point

  • Trailing 4-3 early in the opening period, the Pioneers scored five straight and went on a 17-7 run to open a double-digit lead they would not relinquish

  • Spellman nearly had a triple-double, pulling in 11 rebounds to go with his 10 points and eight blocks and assist
