SOMERSET, N.J. – A career-high 203 rushing yards on Saturday earned Sacred Heart football RB Juilus Chestnut the Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Chestnut picks up his second NEC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the 2019 campaign as he joins CCSU QB Aaron Winchester as the lone players in the conference who've earned the award multiple times this season.

Taking control of the ball leading by seven at their own 4-yard line, SHU steamrolled their way up the field behind Chestnut who carried eight straight times for 44 yards, helping salt away the remaining 5:27 on the clock to seal the Pioneers' 24-17 road NEC win over Bryant.
That final drive for the sophomore finished off what was an incredible day that saw him total a career-high 203 rushing yards. Chestnut became just the ninth player in school history to gain 200+ rushing yards in a single-game while his career-high 43 carries is the most carries by a Pioneer in the program's Div. I era (since 1998) and the second-highest single-game total in school history.
In two career games against Bryant, Chestnut has his two highest single-game rushing totals of his career as he now has 367 rushing yards on 56 carries against the Bulldogs (rushed for 164 as a freshman vs. Bryant on Oct. 27, 2018).
For the season, Chestnut now has 1,105 yards on the ground and is averaging 122.8 rushing yards per game. He is just the seventh player in program history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single-season while he ranks Top 5 nationally with his 1,105 rushing yards in 2019.
Chestnut and the Pioneers are back in action at home this weekend as Wagner comes to Campus Field for a Noon kickoff.
