FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Sacred Heart University men's golf freshman Nathan Kim and sophomore Saptak Talwar earned Northeast Conference honors for the 2018-19 season. Kim was named the 2018-19 NEC Men's Golf Rookie of the Year while also garnering All-NEC Second Team honors, while Talwar earned All-NEC First Team honors.
Kim led the Pioneers with four top-10 finishes and finished the season with a 75.14 scoring average in his opening campaign. He is the fifth golfer in school history to earn NEC Rookie of the Year honors. Kim
Talwar claimed his second All-NEC honors after being named to the First Team a season ago. The sophomore finished the season with three top-10 finishes, including two first-place finishes while posting a team-best 74.48 scoring average. He recorded an event win at the SHU Spring Invitational after carding a five-under 139 in the two-round event. Kim set the Great Rivers Golf Club course record and set the program record for lowest round score with a 13-under par 65 in the first round.
The Pioneers finished the 2018-19 season in third place at the Northeast Conference Championships.
