Men's Golf Closes Play at Turning Stone

VERONA, N.Y.— The Sacred Heart University men's golf team closed play at the Turning Stone-Tiger Intercollegiate, finishing in seventh out of 14 competing teams in its first competition of the fall season Monday afternoon. 

The Pioneers shot a final round of 309, finishing in seventh with a total of 910 for three rounds. University of North Carolina won the event with a team score of 822.

Saptak Talwar led the team with a total of 217 to place him in a tie for 12th place. Sophomore Nathan Kim shot a total of 225 to put him in a tie for 27th place. Jake Sullivan shot 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 56th. Clifford Lindholm and Shane Richardson rounded out the weekend tied for 61st. 

The Pios are back on the road this weekend for the Ryan T. Lee Intercollegiate. They will look to defend their title from last year at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, Conn.
