Cotton Tabbed to Participate in Development Camp for NHL's New York Islanders

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Rising senior Jason Cotton of the Sacred Heart University men's hockey team was selected to participate in the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League development camp on Monday.

The camp will run from June 25-29 at the Northwell Health Ice Center which is the team's practice facility. The prospects will be split into two groups – blue and white – for daily skates from Tuesday-Saturday, and the teams will scrimmage on Thursday night.

"We are very excited that Jason will be participating in the New York Islanders developmental camp." said head coach CJ Marottolo. "This is a great opportunity for him to learn and grow as a young man and hockey player, as he wants to play hockey at the professional level and this is a great step."

Cotton had an impressive redshirt junior year as he played in all 37 games while netting nine goals on 14 assists for a total of 23 points which was second on team. Thus far, Cotton is the lone Pioneer to participate in an NHL development camp this summer.
