Max Tuttle Named to 2019 Tewaaraton Award Watch List

WASHINGTON D.C. – Senior midfielder Max Tuttle of the Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team was selected to the 2019 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, as announced by the committee on Thursday evening.

Tuttle joins an elite list of 50 players nominated by a selection committee comprised of premier college coaches appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.

The Tewaaraton Award is known as the preeminent lacrosse award, annually honored the top female and female college lacrosse player in the United States.

Tuttle, who has been a proven offensive juggernaut for the Pioneers' offense, has already eclipsed the 100-goal mark four games into his senior year. He currently ranks second on the team in goals (10), assists (six) and points (16) while adding 19 ground balls and three caused turnovers.

His 2.50 goals per game average ranks fifth among all players in the Northeast Conference while his 1.50 assists per game and 4.00 points per game are both tied for fifth. Tuttle sits first in the league averaging 10.0 shots per game.

After becoming just the fourth player in program history to reach 100 career goals earlier this season in a 18-11 win against Furman, Tuttle stands on the cusp of more history as he needs just five points to become the program's Division I all-time leader in career points. Tuttle currently stands third all-time with 156 points (101 goals, 55 assists) and stands a great chance at passing Stephen Grabow's 160-point career mark in the next game or two.

The Pioneers hit the turf, Saturday, as they head to non-conference foe Providence, March 2 at 1 PM.
