Wibmer Tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week for Second Straight Time

SOMERSET, N.J.- Sacred Heart University Men's Tennis freshman William Wibmer was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the second straight time as he went 2-0 in singles matches last week for SHU. The Pioneers will return to action on Friday February 15 when SHU takes on Hofstra. Matches begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Yale Tennis Courts.

Wibmer claimed his second straight NEC Rookie of the Week award after posting a 2-0 mark at #2 singles last week for the Pioneers. The freshman from Maldonado, Uraguay earned a marquee victory on Friday with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Bryant's Wilson Dong. He came back the following afternoon to post a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Siena's Thomas Del Olmo. Wibmer now leads SHU in singles wins and is 12-9 on the year.
