Wrestling Posts Nation's Sixth Best GPA

2019 NWCA All-Acdemic Teams

MANHEIM, Pa.- The Sacred Heart University wrestling team posted the sixth-best team grade-point-average in the country this fall. The 39 student-athletes on the Pioneers wrestling roster combined for a GPA of 3.3805. The top-30 All-Academic Team list was announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

"Congratulations to the gentlemen of our program for their success in the classroom," said head coach John Clark. "We strive for excellence in all that we do, and this showing is a testament to the dedication these young men have, in all areas."

Six members of the 2018-19 Sacred Heart University wrestling team earned Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Academic Achievement Awards. 

Seniors Brandon Levesque (Hudson, N.H.) and Gerard Daly (Port Jervis, NY) concluded their careers in 2019 with the honor. Sophomres TJ Calas (Clark, N.J.) and Anthony Falbo (Newtown, CT) and freshman Dante DelBonis (Cranston, R.I.) as well as freshman Anthony Petrillo (Livingston, NJ) were awarded the honor as well.
