  • Jessica Mannetti Adds Dani Durjan to Women's Basketball Class of 2019

    Sacred Heart Head Coach Jessica Mannetti announced the addition of Dani Durjan to women’s basketball Class of 2019. The Montgomery Village, Md. native led Watkins High School a Division Championship in 2015 and was named a Montgomery County All-Star, CKA All-Star and received All-Gazette Honorable Mention that season.

    Sacred Heart women’s basketball’s two seniors Gabrielle Washington (Mesa, Ariz.) and Katie Shepard (Lone Tree, Colo.) led the Pioneers with 18 and 15 points respectively as SHU was knocked out of the Northeast Conference Tournament Sunday afternoon with the 77-59 loss to St. Francis Brooklyn. The Pioneers finish the season 16-13 after posting an 11-7 regular season conference record.
  • Hannah Kimmel Earns a Spot on the All-NEC First Team

    Sacred Heart women’s basketball’s Hannah Kimmel (Harpursville, N.Y.) was named to the All-Northeast Conference First Team Friday morning as announced by the league via Twitter. This is the red-shirt junior’s second All-NEC nod as she earned a spot on the second team last year, her first season coming back after two ACL tears.

    Hannah Kimmel (Harpursville, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with 18 points and 12 rebounds for her twevfth double-double of the season as the Sacred Heart women’s basketball team dropped the season finale to Fairleigh Dickinson 84-75 in the Stratis Arena Monday night. Katie Shepard (Lone Tree, Colo) was right behind her with a season high 17 points as SHU closes the regular season 16-12 overall and 11-7 against Northeast Conference opponents.
  • Pioneers Claim 78-71 Overtime Victory Against LIU Brooklyn on Senior Day

    For the second time this season, the Sacred Heart women’s basketball team faced LIU Brooklyn in an overtime battle Saturday on Coach Bike Court. This time, behind four players’ double-digit scoring performances, the Pioneers were victorious using 16 overtime points to claim the 78-71 win over the Blackbirds on Senior Day. Hannah Kimmel (Harpursville, N.Y.) led the way with her eleventh double-double of the season totaling 24 points with 10 rebounds as SHU improves to 16-11 overall and 11-6 against Northeast Conference foes. The loss drops LIU Brooklyn to 9-19 on the season and 6-11 in NEC play.

Pitt Center. The senior shot 50% (7-14) from the field for 21 points and missed a double-double by just one rebound as SHU clinched a Northeast Conference quarterfinal home game.

Hannah Kimmel (Harpursville, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with 18 points as SHU improved to 14-11 on the season and 9-6 in Northeast Conference play with the win, and Robert Morris fell to 14-13 and 12-4 against conference opponents.

The senior guard tied her season-best with 15 points while dishing out an impressive career high 10 assists. Kimmel’s recorded her tenth double-double of the season leading the team with 20 points and 10 rebounds as SHU improves to 13-10 overall and 8-5 in Northeast Conference play and the Mount falls to 7-18 on the season and 5-9 against conference foes.

The loss drops SHU to 12-10 on the season and 7-5 against Northeast Conference opponents, while SFBK improves to 8-17 overall and 5-8 in conference play.

The senior guard neared a double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Adaysha Williams (LaCrosse, Wis.) led the game with 19 points shooting 50.0% (8-16) from the floor. With the win, SHU improves to 11-9 on the season and 6-4 in Northeast Conference play, while the Bulldogs fall to 15-7 over and 8-3 against conference opponents.

The red-shirt junior was one of four Pioneers who reached double digit scoring in Tuesday’s contest. Gabrielle Washington (Mesa, Ariz.) and Adaysha Williams (LaCrosse, Wis.) put 14 points on the board each for Sacred Heart, while Lerae Ettienne (Kensington, Md.) totaled 10 as SHU improves to 10-9 on the season and 5-4 in NEC play.
