Women's Basketball Introduces Kyra Aloizos as Coordinator of Basketball Operations

FAIRFIELD, CONN. (October 25, 2016)—Sacred Heart Women's Basketball Head Coach Jessica Mannetti added Kyra Aloizos as the program's Coordinator of Basketball Operations for the upcoming 2016-17 season. Aloizos comes to SHU after spending the previous two seasons as the Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of New Haven.

Aloizos had much success as a coach at New Haven, winning the 2015 NCAA Division II East Regional Championship in her first season. For the Chargers, she as responsible for post player development, recruiting, as well as coordinating official and unofficial visits.

She got her introduction into coaching in 2013 when she was selected out of thousands of applicants to attend the NCAA Career in Sports Forum to discuss pertinent information regarding careers in athletics and compliance. Her interest furthered in 2014 when she attended the WBCA's So you Want to Be a Coach Program to develop the understanding and application of professional skills and competencies necessary to succeed in coaching.

Prior to earning her Masters of Science in Management of Sport Industries at New Haven, Aloizos graduated from Binghamton University with her Bachelors of Arts in Art Studio with a Concentration in Drawing. While at Binghamton, she was a member of the Bearcats' women's basketball team where she was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, as well as the America East Honor Roll.

After graduating from Binghamton in 2014, Aloizos worked in marketing and communications for D1scout LLC where she assisted customers with the set up and activation of their account, while providing consultative feedback and advice to help create the best experience for the customers and the organization.
