Women's Golf Concludes Day One at Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. — The Sacred Heart University women's golf team opened its Spring season, finishing 41st of 49 teams at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic on Sunday afternoon at Kiawah Resort Oak Point and Osprey Point.

Hana Bowman led the way for the Pioneers, finishing tied for 73rd out of 254 individuals at the invitational. As a team, SHU finished 34-over par and a 322 total. Coastal Carolina led after day one, finishing 2-under par and a 286 total.

Bowman's 73rd place day one finish led the Pioneers, as she shot 3-over par (75). Chelsea Sedlar shot 5-over par, while Ana Contreras shot 10-over par. Maya Isom and Christina Massei rounded out the group by shooting 16-over par and 26-over par respectively.
