Rutlant, VT – The Sacred Heart Women's Hockey team had trouble finding the back of the net in Game one of the Rutland Herald Invitational, falling to the Holy Cross Crusaders, 4-0. The Crusaders scored just 30 seconds into the game and did not look back from there. The Pioneers fall to 10-9-2 for the season, while Holy Cross improves to 8-4-1.
Mary Klimasewiski led the Crusader attack with a goal and two assists while Caroline English recorded three assists of her own in the victory. Holy Cross scored three times in the first period and once in the second period all they would need to secure the easy win over the Pioneers and advance to the championship game tomorrow afternoon.
Sacred Heart squares off against Franklin Pierce in the consolation contest of the Rutland Herald Invitational at 12 PM Saturday afternoon.
