Pioneers Blanked by Yale

NEW HAVEN – The Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team was shutout by in-state foe Yale, 13-0, on Friday night. The loss drops the Pioneers to 2-3-0, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-3-1.

Yale's offense scored four goals in the first, five in the second, and four in the third. Jamie Haddad led all skaters with six points, scoring a hat trick to go along with three assists. Aurora Kennedy also netted a hat trick and added two assists for five points. 

SHU goalkeeper Amanda Fontaine made 61 saves in the defeat, while Hanna Mandi stopped six shots for her first win of the year.

Sacred Heart will be back at the Sports Center of Connecticut, where they are 2-0-0 on the year, on Tuesday for a 7 pm start against Wesleyan.
