SHELTON, Conn. – Junior forward Heather Daley scored her fourth goal of the season Saturday as the Sacred Heart women's hockey team fell to the Trinity Bantams 5-1 at the Sports Center of Connecticut.

Trinity (9-3-1) scored first less than two minutes into the game, as Cheeky Herr slipped an Alessandra Bravi pass past Amanda Fontaine to give the Bantams a 1-0 lead. Twenty-two seconds later, Lauren Fitzgerald gave Trinity a 2-0 lead 2:14 into the game with assists from Shannon Farrell and Kelci Finn. The Bantams added a third goal in the period at 7:15 when Emily Riccio smacked home an Emma Tani feed to make the score 3-0. Sacred Heart (5-11-1) had seven shots on goal in the first period, but didn't get one past Trinity goaltender Claudia Escue.

The Bantams made the score 4-0 at 9:32 of the second period. Trinity capitalized on a 5-on-3 power play, as Herr capped off some tic-tac-toe passing from Tani and Hannah Oganeku for her second goal of the game. Megan Ofner also assisted on the tally.  Trinity tacked on one more goal in the third period to make the final score 5-1.

Trinity outshot Sacred Heart 36-18. The Pioneers were 1-for-3 on the power play, as the Bantams went 1-for-4. Escue made 17 saves for Trinity as Nicole Magee made 29 saves in relief of Fontaine.
