MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Four Sacred Heart women's rugby players headlined the 2018 National Intercollegiate Rugby Association All-American Selections following the Fall 15's Championship. Junior Tyffany Brisbane at inside center, sophomore Isabel Cuddy at wing, junior Allie Rinaldi at scrum-half and freshman flanker Nia Williams were all named to the first team in Tier 2.
These four Pioneers were of 43 student-athletes acknowledged on the NIRA's First-Team and one of 17 honorees to be named from an NIRA member institution.
"I am very proud of the hard work these four student-athletes put in developing their skills and mindset which improved throughout the fall and significantly contributed to our successful season. It is an honor to have them represent Sacred Heart University as All Americans in the NIRA Conference." – Coach Reed
Brisbane compiled a total of four tries this season at inside center and was clutch in 71-5 victory over Castleton as she tallied three tries for 15 points. This is the first All-American selection she has earned.
Cuddy led the team in tries this season as she compiled a total of 20 this season including five in the match against Colby-Sawyer which helped lead the Pioneers to a 46-29 victory.
