HONG KONG-H.K.- Sacred Heart University Rugby assistant coach Jennifer Salomon was recently selected to be a member of the Mexican National team competing at the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series Qualifier.
"This is an excellent opportunity for Jenn to play the game at the highest level," said Pioneers head coach Michelle Reed. "I am excited for her; professionally and personally. We are all cheering for her and wish her the best of luck."
The competition continues to go from strength to strength and this year Hong Kong will host 11 international sides in the tournament that draws teams from each World Rugby region. Nine of last year's competitors are returning, promising even more thrills than 2018's dramatic competition where China emerged victorious. With China on the Women's Series this year, the field is wide open.
The winner of the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series Qualifier will be promoted to next season's HSBC World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, replacing the bottom-placed team at the completion of the current season.
Salomon has served as an assistant coach with the Pioneers since the program's elevation to Division I status. She was a four-year letter-winner at Quinnipiac, serving as a team captain.
