FAIRFIELD, CT - Lisa Nowakowski (Rocky Hill, CT) scored her first two goals of the season, including the gmae-winner 1:05 into the second overtime to help the Sacred Heart women's soccer team defeat visiting Robert Morris University in a Northeast Conference game Friday afternoon.
Robert Morris, 6-11 overall and 2-6 in the NEC, struck first. After a scoreless first half, Jennifer Tobar scored her first goal of the season off a pass from Brenda Sasu 9:54 into the second half.
Nowakowski got the tying goal off a crossing pass from Alex Mack on a direct kick from the right side. Nowakowski one-timed it into the upper right of the goal in the 74h minute.
Senior Megan Wosleger set up the winning goal with a direct kick from 35 yards how that Nowakowski flicked past Colonial keeper Caitlin Dilal. Dilal made five saves in the game.
Meghan Reichelt made six saves in the win for the Pioneers, who outshot Robert Morris 21-9.
The win lifted the Pioneers to 1-6-1 in the conference. They will conclude the season at home on Sunday, hosting St. Francis (PA).
