The Sacred Heart University women's swim team defeated host Manhattan College 116-88 in a dual meet on Friday evening in Riverdale, N.Y. The victory is the second dual win of the year for the Pioneers and was paced by a pair of triple winners, Olivia Decas and Jillian Crosby, as well as the first career win for Hannah O'Brien.
Crosby captured the 200 IM by nearly four full seconds, touching in a time of 2:20.79. She also won the 500 freestyle, finishing at 5:22.69, nearly 15 seconds in front of the second place finisher. Crosby then anchored the squads winning 200 freestyle relay, 1:43.65, teaming with Decas, Caleigh Dion and Emily Shenk to secure the Pioneer victory in the final event.
Decas was also a member of the opening relay way, anchoring the 400 medley relay team of Shenk, Malvina Reinhold and Siobhan goodman to a win in 4:09.92. Decas picked up an individual victory as well, winning the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.45
O'Brien picked up her first collegiate victory in hard-fought 1,000 freestyle. She touched in a time of 11:23.47, 2.5 seconds in front of Manhattan's top finisher. O'Brien also finished fifth in the 500 freestyle and anchored the third-place 200 freestyle relay team.
The Pioneers picked up two other individual victories in the dual meet. Dion earned the top spot in the 100 freestyle at 56.71. Anna Brown captured the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:02.82.
