The Sacred Heart University women's swim team competed in a double-dual meet at Fairfield University Sunday afternoon, falling to the host Stags and Northeast Conference rival Central Connecticut State.
The Pioneers had their best finishes in the 50-meter freestyle, with Jillian Crosby (28.16) and Caleigh Dion (28.70) placing second and third respectively. Dion swam to a third place finish in the 100-meter freestyle, touching in a time of 1:02.68, earning first place points in the scoring against Fairfield.
Anna Brown and Hannah O'Brien also picked up third place finishes on the afternoon. Brown touched in a time of 1:09.19 in the 100-meter backstroke, ahead of both Fairfield entrants. O'Brien recorded her third place finish in the 800-meter freestyle, touching in a time of 9:57.55.
The Pioneers fell 77-34 to Fairfield and 84-29 to CCSU, with both opponents earning 16 points in the diving events.
Sacred Heart completes its dual meet schedule on January 31 when to travels to Siena College.
