The Sacred Heart University women's swim team competed the dual meet portion of its season with a 169-94 loss at Siena College.
Jill Crosby swam a collegiate best time on her way to winning the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:16.69. She placed second in the 50 freestyle, touching in 25.88 and anchored the winning 400-yard freestyle relay, splitting 53.86 as the Pioneers won the final event by over two seconds.
Caleigh Dion, who split 56.62 as the third leg on the 400 free relay, placed second for SHU in the 200 freestyle and third in the 50 freestyle. Olivia Decas led off the winning relay with a 56.70, placed second in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Anna Brown touched second in the 200 yard backstroke 2:17.93 and third in the 100 backstroke at 1:03.05.
Siobhan Goodman finished second in the 100 butterfly, 1:03.94, and third in the 200 yard butterfly. Hannah O'Brien placed second in the 1,000 freestyle, 11:27.58, and in the 400 individual medley, 5:12.73. Meredith Nyser won the 400 IM at 5:07.33.
The Pioneers now turn their attention to the Northeast Conference championship, February 25-28, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
