In the midst of its winter training trip to Florida, the Sacred Heart University swim team took part in the Florida International University Relay competition. The Pioneers finished fifth place, 108 points in front of its next competitor, with five top-five finishes in relays.
Jillian Crosby led off the 200 freestyle relays in a time of 25.83, leading the squad to a top-five finish. She also split a 1:59.95 in the 800 free relay, with Nicole Sauve, Caleigh Dion, Crosby and Kaylyn Cuozzo, that also placed in the top-five.
Jessica Poole led off the 3x00 breaststroke relay with a split of 1:11.42, combining with Dee Henry and Julia Pedersen to place fourth. The 500 relay, 50-100-150-200 team of Siobhan Goodman, Olivia Decas, Katarina Dy and Nicole Sauve was also fourth. Decas split 56.47 in swimming the 100 freestyle leg of the relay.
The Pioneers return to Connecticut this week, before hosting Manhattan on January 16 and Fairfield on January 24.
