Women's Tennis Picks Up Second Straight NEC Victory With 4-3 Win over Saint Francis

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Women's Tennis team picked up it's second straight Northeast Conference victory as tonight as the Pioneers defeated Saint Francis (Pa.) by a final score of 4-3. The Pioneers will return to action tomorrow morning when the Pioneers host Mount Saint Mary's. Matches begin at 8:00 a.m.

In singles play sophomore Kiera Tobia would defeated Raksha Bode 7-5, 7-5 while redshirt senior Sabrina Navarro would pick up a win against Romina Cutipa 6-0, 6-1. Junior Adrianne Alfonso would pick up the final singles victory by forfeit. 

In doubles, the duo of senior Olivia Podsiebierksi and Sabrina Navarro would defeat Laura Gutierrez and Stephanie Miller 6-4 while the pairing of Tobia and sophomore Laura Crievi would pick up a win by forfeit as well.
