    Nearly a month removed from dropping a five-setter to the Sharks in Brooklyn, the Sacred Heart women’s volleyball team exacted some revenge on Saturday night as the Pioneers swept LIU, 3-0, in the Pitt Center. A sixth straight NEC victory (seventh straight win overall) vaults SHU to 13-10 overall and 8-2 in the league while the Sharks drop to 7-15 overall and 6-4 in the conference.

With the win, SHU improves to 11-10 on the season and 6-2 in NEC-play, while Merrimack falls to 1-16 on the season and 0-10 in the NEC. Liisel Nelis led SHU with 13 kills while Sarah Ciszek added 24 assists, six digs and three service aces in the win. The Pioneers return to action Friday, Oct. 25, when SHU plays host to St. Francis Brooklyn at 6 p.m.

    FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Sacred Heart University women's volleyball had numerous players earn NEC weekly awards as sophomore Sarah Ciszek was named the NEC Co-Player of the Week and senior Gianna Scioletti was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

    SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball defeated NEC-foe Bryant on the road in straight sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-22) Saturday evening. With the win, SHU improves to 8-10 on the season and 4-2 in NEC-play, while Bryant. falls to 10-13 on the season and 5-2 in the NEC. Liisel Nelis led SHU with nine kills and added eight digs, while Sarah Ciszek added 28 assists and nine digs in the win. The Pioneers return to action Friday, Oct. 18, when SHU travels to take on NEC-foe Fairleigh Dickinson at 7 p.m.

With the win, SHU improves to 6-9 on the season and 2-1 in NEC-play, while St. Francis U. falls to 1-13 on the season and 1-1 in the NEC. Liisel Nelis led SHU with 12 kills and 10 digs for the double-double, while Sarah Ciszek added 32 assists, eight kills, four digs and two block in the win. The Pioneers return to action Saturday, Oct. 5, when SHU plays host to NEC-foe Robert Morris at 7 p.m.

With the loss SHU falls to 5-9 on the season and 1-1 in NEC-play, while LIU improves to 3-11 on the season and 2-0 in the NEC. Sarah Ciszek led SHU with a career-high 60 assists and added 10 kills and 11 digs in the loss. Liisel Nelis added 16 kills and 22 digs, while Makayla Dole recorded 15 kills of her own. The Pioneers return to action Friday, Oct. 4, when SHU plays host to NEC-foe St. Francis U. at 6 p.m.

With the win SHU improves to 5-8 on the season and 1-0 in NEC-play, while St. Francis Brooklyn falls to 5-9 on the season and 0-1 in the NEC. Sarah Ciszek led SHU with 44 assists and 25 digs for the double-double, while Liisel Nelis led the team with 19 kills and added 15 digs for the double-double as well. The Pioneers return to action Saturday, Sept. 28, when SHU travels to take on NEC-foe LIU at 4 p.m.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team fell to Stony Brook in five sets (19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 19-25, 11-15) to open day two of the Yale Invitational Saturday afternoon. With the loss SHU falls to 4-7, while Stony Brook improves to 4-9 on the season. Gianna Scioletti led the way for SHU with 12 kills, while Sarah Ciszek added 40 assists, 14 digs ands seven kills.The Pioneers return to action Saturday, Sept. 21, when SHU closes the Yale invitational vs. Yale at 7 p.m.

Reghan Palanchi led the way for SHU with eight kills, while Sarah Ciszek added 26 assists, nine digs and four kills.The Pioneers return to action Saturday, Sept. 21, when SHU closes the Yale invitational vs. Stony Brook at 11 a.m. and Yale at 7 p.m.
